I use WordPress, but had a custom theme design professionally done. I’ve been very happy with it.

Yes, those first moments sitting down for writers can be frustrating because it’s hard to let go of everything else going on in our heads and focus. Be sure to eliminate potential distractions-turn down the phone volume, shut-down your e-mail, put a “do not disturb” sign on the door, etc. Have you tried starting with a warm-up exercise to get your hand moving? I found a great book called 642 Things to Write About by The San Francisco Writers’ Grotto. It is filled with writing prompts to get you going. Do this for 5-10 minutes and try to keep your hand moving the whole time as you write. In other words, don’t think too much about what you’re writing…just write. This may help. Also, I would suggest reading Writing Down the Bones by Natalie Goldberg and Bird by Bird by Anne Lamott, for some great tips on writing and writer’s block. Happy writing!
