What I’ve Been Reading (June 2017)

When we go on vacation to Rehoboth Beach each summer, I love going into Browse About Books and plopping myself in the picture books section to read. I had seen The Boss Baby movie with my kids, but had never read the book. I also didn’t realize there was an equally as adorable book sequel, The Bossier Baby. And they are both by the fabulous Marla Frazee! Happy reading!

What I’ve Been Reading (April 2017)

I’m so excited for the new picture book out by Drew Dewalt, author of The Day the Crayons Quit! The concept is brilliant and it is executed to perfection. Go read a copy of The Legend of Rock, Paper, Scissors as soon as possible. It definitely made it on my recommended list for April.

What I’ve Been Reading (Oct 2016)

In preparation for our 4th grade field trip to Jamestown, VA, we used the historical fiction book Blood on the River by Elisa Carbone as our class read-aloud. This was a great way to make history come alive for our students. The field trip to Jamestown was meaningful to them because of the characters, places and storylines they heard about in the book and they were thrilled to be able to answer questions from our Jamestown tour guide.
